Von der Rechenmaschine zum Personal Computer. Ein technologiegeschichtlicher Abriss

Resumo

The following paper contains a brief summary of computer history, from early calculating-machines to modern high-tech computers, broaching the events during and after World War II, especially focusing on the so called „Software Crisis“ in 1976/77. Furthermore the author approaches the development of the first commercially successful personal computers in the early 1980‘s as well as their operating systems, giving indispensable information for the reader's understanding of the thesis that will ultimately be presented.
